Sailing the Seven Seas - Portugal

Well, well, well, what can you do when essays are dragging, revision is getting you down and the sun is just not showing its pretty face? A spontaneous sailing trip to Portugal was just the ticket!

A week ago AN, MN, CN and I hopped on a plane, with a spring in our step and nothing but high hopes for a week of sunshine in Faro. Having raised the mast, we launched our trusty ship into the sea, we donned our raincoats and set off up the lagoon to find a nice little bay to anchor. Sadly, the heavens opened, and my goodness did the rain come down! Hours of torrential rain couldn't dampen the mood and despite our soaked clothes, a quick cuppa and a bar of choccy later and the happy sailors were back.

The boat proved to be a cozy little home for a week and we quickly adjusted to the slow, rocking rhythm of the sea. I am happy to say, we woke to find beautiful blue skies and warm breeze so we did what any sensible sailor would do and headed straight for the beach! Some of us were a little cautious of the "freezing" water, whilst the rest of us dived straight into the sea.

The rest of the week passed far too quickly in a happy blur of sailing, wine-drinking, sunshine, card-games, harmonica playing, steak-munching, fresh fish lunches, crab-finding, and singing all on board our wonderful little boat.

Thanks AN for being such a wonderful skipper and inviting us, the motley crew, on board, and to CN and MN for being the best company any crew could ask for.

Mood - Bring on the ski trip!

Mothering Sunday 2014

I cannot believe I haven't posted in over a month! If there was "bad blogger" award I surely would win it! What is even more incredible is that it has been a year since my last mothers' day post (here)

All mums are amazing, just being a mother, grandmother, or a carer for anyone then you are doing the most fantastic job in the world, congratulations.

I personally think Kid President says it better than I ever could, so here it is folks.....

In honour of mothering Sunday and my mum in particular I think its great to share a few photos of you and your special lady. These photos were taken a couple of months ago, when the days were lazy and sun was shining and when mum and I decided to go for a little ride through the woods.

Anti- Valentines Party

The 14th of February, you are here again! One of the most depressing days for any girl who is single or whose boyfriend is away, so this year we decided to host a little anti-valentines day party. Involving wine, chocolate, friends and most importantly NO BOYS! (Yes, I sound like my thirteen year old self again, not much changes in 10 years).

SM and NO were in charge of putting together some delicious food, and let me tell you they did a fantastic job! We ate and we ate and we ate and it was wonderful! SM really is a whizz in the kitchen and she turned up with boxes laden with goodies, including mini lemon tarts, rich chocolate mousse and caramelised (yes, caramelised) walnut and stilton puffs. Luckily the dress code was pyjamas so elasticated waistbands were the name of the game, perfect for filling our selves with yummy food.

Wine, fizz and G and T's were flowing, so merriment was well and truly the order of the day, along with JJ's valentines quiz and endless rounds of Heads Up! (Do you know Heads Up? if not, you should, it is pretty much the greatest game ever!)

Can you imagine a better way to spend the day of love with a fantastic group of friends, laughing away and eating until you can't eat another bite?

Insta-moments

We all know that January and February are not that exciting as months of the year go. However, these are a few little moments that I have captured recently.

Sadly studying has been the name of the game for the first few months of 2014, but nothing says positivity like creamy hot chocolate and bright trousers!

Can you believe that this is my view? Nothing beats watching the sunset over this beauty

Enjoying the falling leaves on a chilly walk across Green Park with my favourite people

Only the cutest flower shop in Paris!

Doggy walks with this little chap never fail to make me happy

Road-trippin' to the North with AN for a weekend away and celebrations

Greeted with this incredible platter for cheese and wine evening with NO, SM and JJ. Cheese, wine and girly catch-ups make my heart sing and my jeans extra tight!

A rainy lunch date

My current favourite snuggly jumper, love myself a good geeky literary reference

Yes, more studying, this time accessorised with a splash of spring-clolored nail varnish!

Dancing with my favourite people for the annual dance show, going to miss these beauties! (Post to follow)

So rare these days to receive a heartfelt hand written letter, it really makes me happy

Cousin love is the best, especially when you accidentally buy matching gnome hats and then wear them to a dinner date....sorry not sorry!
